This is an idea a friend of mine came up with:

Its the biggest soda cup top they had at the cinema... its nice because it makes a nice distance at the edge of the soundhole, making it easier to make that edge look nice.

Nice idea Lars! I like how it sits down from the edge. I bet it makes it super easy to catch any drips that collect there.

Tip of the week I'd say. I use butter tubs, but I like this alot.

By the way, Lars, that is a gorgeous inlay and spruce top, wow, wow. And I see you've moved on up to a neck extension under the fretboard.

Just about the time I get up to the bar, someone raises it a smidge higher.....

Thanks Bruce! I cant take credit for the idea, but I think it works pretty nicely. They usually crack when the laquer cures, but they arent that expensive...

That's what I do. I use any container like sour cream, chip dip or etc, with a sponge or foam inside. Got the idea from Charlie Hoffman

here's one of mine, looks sort of like a toilet bowl I know

The cool think with the heavy plastic ones is that they don't crack and you can use them over and over again. The other cool thing about this type of cover is that you can peel off the lacquer and measure it with the calipers to see what the total thickness of the lacquer was before sanding.
